Pep Guardiola has revealed he has to call his wife before every Manchester City game - although claims he doesn't have anymore rituals.

The Citizens boss was asked to disclose what he gets up to as he prepares to lead his team out onto the pitch at Manchester City's Evening with the Manager, which was presented by Betsafe.

But unlike other footballers and managers who have a number of superstitions that range from touching the club badge on the changing room wall to wearing a particular pair of pants, Guardiola says he only has to make one important phonecall.

"Before I go to the stadium, I call my wife and my eldest daughter, always," explained the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss.

"Before it was always the suit, my wife chose one suit every day but this year I decided to have no more suits, it is more comfortable.

"I don't have any more rituals, only the phone call to my wife."
