Who needs Sergio Aguero as Manchester City's smooth ride in the Champions League continued as they blew away Italian table toppers Napoli.

The Argentine's replacement Jesus netted once again - as did in-form Rahem Sterling - but the real star of the show didn't get his name on the team sheet.

But that didn't mean Kevin de Bruyne was any less effective.

And it capped a great day for the Belgian.

De Bruyne's agent has confirmed he will open talks with City over a lucrative new contract for his client, whom City boss Pep Guardiola hailed as “the best player in Europe bar one”.

Belgium international De Bruyne, 26, is currently on £110,000-a-week but will see that salary rocket to £220,000-a-week under the terms of the new deal.

Simon Bird was at the Etihad to run his eye over how both sets of players did.
