Jose Mourinho has named both Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku in a strong Manchester United starting XI for their clash with Barcelona in the United States.

The duo dovetailed brilliantly against Manchester City last week - both finding the net in the 2-0 win - and are again paired together as part of United's attacking quartet for the clash at FedEx Field.

Jesse Lingard and Henrikh Mkhitaryan also get the nod, with Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick in midfield.

Antonio Valencia and Daley Blind are the full-backs, with Chris Smalling at the heart of defence, partnered by £30million new boy Victor Lindelof. The Swede is still to feature alongside Eric Bailly.

David De Gea starts in goal, with Carrick wearing the captain's armband.

United are without both Juan Mata and Ander Herrera due to injury, although both did do some light training on the pitch some 90 minutes before the scheduled kick-off time.

For Barca, Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez all start up front as Ernesto Valverde lines up Los Cules' much-vaunted 'MSN' attack for the first time.

Brazil star Neymar stole the show in the win over Juventus at the weekend, scoring twice despite the continued speculation surrounding his future.

There is also a first start for new right-back Nelson Semedo , while youngster Carles Alena plays in midfield.
