Manchester United have refused access to Old Trafford for a documentary film crew following rivals Manchester City.

Amazon Prime are paying City £10million for behind-the-scenes access to their 2017/18 season and were hoping to follow the team into the dressing room on derby day.

But United have turned down their request for entry to Old Trafford.

The the film crew has been a source of annoyance for various Premier League clubs.

Whether United's decision is based upon specific guidelines or is merely some pre-derby point scoring is unclear.

The series, which looks set to feature at least one trophy win for Pep Guardiola's side, will be released in 2018.

With the derby in mind, Guardiola rotated his side for the mid-week Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk, which the Ukrainian side won 2-1.

The former Bayern Munich manager believes his team will emerge stronger following their first defeat of the season.

The result brought to an end a run of 20 successive victories in all competitions and was their first loss in 29 matches stretching back to April.

Guardiola said: "It hurts. It is never nice to lose a game.

"But we have said many times we cannot win all the time, we are going to lose games. Today was the first.

"We needed to lose a game. It will be good for the club, for all of us and the media. People say things when you win a lot and you can forget that now.

"We saw many good things but we made mistakes and we are going to improve on that. Football is how you recover in the good moments and bad moments to stay stable.

"Now we prepare for Sunday and then after that think about Swansea and Tottenham."
