Eric Bailly is ready to return for Manchester United after offering up some more positive news to fans.

The defender said he is "feeling good" after training on Tuesday ahead of his return from injury, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The 23-year-old returned injured from international duty with the Ivory Coast.

And he has since missed United's last three matches against Liverpool, Benfica and Huddersfield.

He was also not among the travelling squad which flew to Swansea for Tuesday night's Carabao Cup tie.

However, United manager Jose Mourinho suggested last week Bailly would return to the side against Tottenham on Saturday and the £30million centre half is feeling optimistic.

Bailly tweeted: "Feeling good after today’s training session. Too bad I’m surrounded by these guys."

Bailly was accompanied by teammates Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David de Gea, who was rested for the Swansea match along with Antonio Valencia.

Ibrahimovic had earlier joked Bailly 'can't run away' from him after the former Villarreal defender uploaded a video in August of him slapping and kicking the Swede in the first-team dressing room at Carrington before scurrying away.

On Friday, Mourinho said: "If you ask if [Paul Pogba] can play next week against Tottenham then I don’t know. I’m not telling you no, then he plays, and then you say I lied. I really don’t know.

"I expect Eric Bailly to be back next week. I cannot tell you about Fellaini or Pogba."

Bailly's regular partner this season Phil Jones appears to have already recovered from the injury which forced him off at Huddersfield on Saturday. Jones flew to Swansea with the rest of the travelling squad on Tuesday morning.
