Manchester United 's squad have had a swimming pool installed at their training complex in Los Angeles.

Jose Mourinho's men have been forced to train in searing heat since arriving in California for their pre-season tour of America.

The players have been training in a heatwave at the UCLA campus, with LA recording temperatures in excess of 100F.

United boss Mourinho has been putting his side through high-intensity double training sessions every day, in a bid to get them as a fit as quickly as possible.

And, faced with the debilitating heat, United have made organisers of the International Champions Cup erect a large swimming pool for the players to cool off in.

The pool has been situated next to the pitch at the Drake Stadium, which is part of the UCLA base that Spanish giants Real Madrid are also using.

United have also been using paddling pools to fill with cold water and ice for the squad to use at the end of the gruelling sessions.

The United boss has also banned huge photos of his squad from being emblazoned on the sides of the team bus in the US.

Last summer in China, the coaches used by the squad had pictures of the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba plastered on the sides.

But Mourinho told ICC organisers that was not what he wanted this season, in the interests of fostering a strong team spirit, with no individual stars.

Ashley Cole missed LA Galaxy's media day ahead of the game against United because he was filming for Gordon Ramsey's The F-Word programme at the StubHub Centre, venue for the game against his former boss Mourinho.
