Romelu Lukaku looks set to spearhead Manchester United's attack next season after the Red Devils agreed a £75m fee with Everton for the Belgian striker.

United have ended their interest in Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata as a result, opting for tried-and-tested, rather than a more refined and versatile forward.

Jose Mourinho briefly modified his side's formation towards the end of the season after Zlatan Ibrahimovic's injury, but Lukaku fits his signature 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 system.

How will Lukaku affect Marcus Rashford though? Will Mourinho pursue another striker or does he have enough now? Here's how Lukaku could line up for United:

Mourinho will likely persist with a one-striker system, despite the success the two-pronged attack showed against Chelsea.

That means Marcus Rashford will be shifted wide to make room for Lukaku, which is not the biggest drama given it will give him the opportunity to use his pace from deep.

Michael Carrick is set to be named the new United captain once Wayne Rooney departs, but the veteran midfielder will not be able to play twice a week.

Nemanja Matic has been strongly linked with teaming up with Jose Mourinho once again, that's once Tiemoue Bakayoko's impending move to Stamford Bridge is completed.

That should free up Herrera to scurry across a wider area and have a greater influence, while Paul Pogba will finally have the foundation to allow him to flourish from an inside left midfield position that elevated him to such a lofty height with Juventus.

Matteo Darmian is not seen as a long-term solution for the Portuguese at left-back, though Luke Shaw's fitness mean he could begin the season in the starting line-up.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan should beat out Juan Mata to complete an exciting front three and a balanced XI that will provide Mourinho with the option to dictate and react.
