Manchester United will be hoping to seal their place in the last 16 of the Champions League when they host CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night.

The Red Devils currently top Group A on 12 points, three points more than the Russians and Basel, who are tied in second spot.

If United are beaten and the Swiss side triumph against Benfica in the other match, then it will be decided by the head-to-head record between the sides.

United will reach the knockouts providing they avoid defeat by more than six goals or if Basel fail to beat Benfica.

Jose Mourinho will speak to the media ahead of the game and you can follow all of the latest news from Carrington here.

Lindelof speaks

Mourinho on Lindelof

He’s like the team. When the team plays well, he plays well.

When the team’s doesn’t play well, he doesn’t play so well. So the mistakes he had in matches were not mistakes against the level of the team.

When he made mistakes it was when the team was playing bad. If the team is playing well, Victor is playing well.

The United defender will speak to the media next.

That’s all from the United boss for today.

He was in a good mood - and who can blame him after the win at Arsenal.

Don’t forget, United still haven’t qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League.

Will Luke Shaw come in?

I’d have to think. I’m going to make a few but not too many changes.

We didn’t qualify yet and I need to keep a certain balance in the team. But when you speak about Luke Shaw, you are right.

He’s working to have an opportunity and sooner or later, the opportunity will arrive, because he deserves that opportunity.

Selected for tomorrow, yes, for sure. To start or to be on the bench, I cannot answer.

More on Matic

We have problems, we have injuries. Matic is injured and when I say he is injured, he is injured.

I am not going to make him play tomorrow so Matic is out. A couple of others guys are playing every match and they also need a rest.

More importantly, the others deserve an opportunity to play.

Is De Gea the best in the world?

My goalkeeper is always the best goalkeeper in the world. So now David is the third best.

Romero is number one and Joel [Pereira] number two, and David is the third best.

That’s that one answered, then...

A surprise in store?

All the other players that didn’t play the last match are still out.

I can make a surprise tomorrow and the one that is unavailable, he plays.

Who could it be?

Latest on Zlatan

Zlatan needs sometimes very hard work on the muscular area that supports the knee that had the problem.

And when the period for that hard work comes, also the fatigue comes.

He was on this cycle of work, divided between the gym and the pitch. And he will be out again for tomorrow but I believe back to normal work after CSKA.

Team news

United will be without Nemanja Matic and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the clash.

Michael Carrick is also still out.

Sergio Romero is set to get a rare outing in goal.

Latest on Pogba

The United boss has refused to confirm if they have appealed against Paul Pogba’s red card.

Jamie Redknapp has made the huge claim that David De Gea is the second greatest Premier League goalkeeper of all time.

According to Redknapp, another legendary Manchester United shot-stopper - one Peter Schmeichel - is still the division’s best.

De Gea enjoyed one of the finest games of his career as the Red Devils beat the Gunners 3-1 at the Emirates on Saturday.

The Spanish international kept long-range shots courtesy of Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac at bay as well as closer efforts from the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette.

United, Barcelona and Arsenal target breaks silence

In-demand Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka says he will decide his future in January.

The Germany international, 22, is one of Europe’s most wanted stars, with the likes of Manchester United, Juventus, Barcelona, Bayern and Arsenal all chasing his signature.

Goretzka, who has 12 caps and six goals for his country, is out of contract at the end of the season and can negotiate with clubs from January 1.

“I have to find out for myself what the next step should be,” he told reporters following Schalke’s 2-2 draw with Cologne.

“I have to consider a million things. I am a person who is very meticulous in such decisions. I play through all the scenarios. So I need time.

“There doesn’t exist a deadline, but I think we are in the final phase. The final decision will be made in January.”
