Teenage hotshot Justin Kluivert has revealed what Jose Mourinho said to him after May's Europa League final.

The 18-year-old was seen in conversation with the Manchester United boss after his Ajax side had lost 2-0 to the Red Devils in Stockholm in May, and has been linked with a move to United in the past.

Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan struck to earn United their second trophy of last season , with Kluivert left as an unused substitute.

The teenage son of Dutch striking legend Patrick Kluivert has been more of a mainstay in the team this season, playing 14 times in the Eredivisie and scoring five goals - including a hat-trick against Roda JC in November.

And as revealed by our friends at the Manchester Evening News , Kluivert Junior has told reporters in Holland that Mourinho was reminiscing about the old days with him.

"He just liked to see me," he told Dutch newspaper AD.

"Mourinho knows me from the time that I was a little boy and my father played at Barcelona when Mourinho worked there as an assistant trainer.”

Kluivert also added that his father's achievements in the game motivate him to "go to the top."

"I want to keep the Kluivert name high," he continued . "Everyone knows the name. That must motivate you.

"I'm going to the top like my father. Maybe it will be a bit less, maybe better. I don't find it irritating, though. He just makes me proud. It's nice to have a father like that. He has been on the ride.”
