The coach of Manchester United's legendary Class of 92 has been visited by some of the famous players he helped develop as he battles dementia.

Eric Harrison, who coached the likes of Ryan Giggs, David Beckham , Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and the Neville brothers as part of the FA Youth Cup winning side of 1992, was diagnosed with dementia earlier this year.

He was visited by United and England legends Beckham, Scholes and Gary Neville in the summer and the Alzheimer's Society society shared pictures of the trio with their former mentor.

Eric's daughter Vicky revealed how the visit - organised by his grandson Joe - came about.

"My dad still has all the players' numbers in his phone and, unbeknown to me, Joe contacted a few of them. Within a week, they had all come round.' she said.

"It was funny, the lads said they still almost felt on edge when they were around him," Joe added.

Vicky also spoke of the affect the illness has had on her father's life.

"One of the saddest things is that he has lost interest in watching football," she said.

"Until the dementia it was his life."
