Mesut Ozil has revealed he played a small part in Arsenal signing left-back Sead Kolasinac from his former club Schalke.
The German playmaker got to work speaking to some of his ex-teammates - as well as those he plays alongside in the national team - to get the low down on the Bosnian.
Ozil claims he learned a lot about the player's ability and character, which are obviously traits Arsene Wenger considered when signing the 24-year-old on a free transfer.
And admitted that one man in particular had plenty to say about Kolasinac.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, Ozil said: "I've spoken to a few players who have played with him [Kolasinac] at Schalke, like Draxler.
"They said to me that Sead is a really good player with a character that will fit our team.
"What I've seen of him on the training pitch so far is that he's very strong, but character-wise he seems to be a really nice guy. We're happy to have him in our team.
"If he has questions where I know I can help him, I'll be very happy to do that."
Kolasinac signed for the Gunners after his contract expired at Schalke.
He put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the north London club, which is understood to be worth more than £100,000-a-week.
