Mesut Ozil has hailed his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, revealing exactly what he learned from the Real Madrid forward.
The Portuguese could win a fourth Champions League this Saturday, which would make him favourite to pick up a Ballon d'Or for a fifth time.
The 32-year-old previously played alongside Ozil, when the German signed for Los Blancos back in 2010.
The Arsenal forward recently spoke out about his former teammate, explaining what he admires most about Ronaldo, and what helped him become the best in the world.
"His ambition, how hungry for success he is, as a player, you're always quite similar," Ozil told Arsenal Player.
"You want to be successful, you want to bring your best and what fascinated me about him was how professional he was. He'd be the first in the dressing room and the last to leave.
"He's a grounded guy who is very ambitious, who always gives his best for himself and for the team. What I admired about him was how hungry for success he is.
"He's not somebody who when he achieves something, thinks 'OK I can stop now, or I can go easy'. It's the opposite. He always wants to be more successful - he wants to defend titles and I admired that."
Ozil endured a difficult season at the Emirates, as the Gunners failed to finish in the top four for the first time under Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal concluded the campaign on a high however by beating Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley to win the FA Cup.
