Manchester City boast the most-expensive squad in world football - with four of the top five coming from the Premier League.

That is according to the CIES Football Observatory , who have ranked the big five leagues based on the estimated value of their players.

City are taking some stopping both domestically and in Europe, with Sunday's victory over Arsenal taking them eight points clear at the top.

And Pep Guardiola's squad is believed to be worth around a staggering £1.06billion.

Kevin De Bruyne, regarded as City's star man so far this season, is perceived as their most valuable player.

The Belgian cost City a club-record £55m but the data suggests he may now be worth almost £130m.

He isn't the most valuable Premier League star.

That title belongs to Tottenham's Harry Kane, who is said to be worth almost £165m, taking the value of Mauricio Pochettino's squad to over £1billion.

Spurs remarkably sit second ahead of Barcelona in third, with Chelsea and Manchester United completing the top five.

Antonio Conte's title-winning squad is believed to be worth around £925m with United's in at £813m.

Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku are perceived to be the most valuable players in the two squads.

Liverpool come in seventh in the list while Arsenal are down in 12th.

The totals do not take into account players on loan - or our on loan.
