The Gunners defender popped up with just his second Premier League goal as his team beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium to stay within touching distance of the leaders, but it wasn't just his unlikely goalscoring prowess that impressed.
It was also his excellent passing.

Because the 31-year-old was the only Premier League player across the whole weekend to register over 100 passes, racking up 102 as the Gunners dominated.
What's more, only one member of the top 10 passers of the weekend had a better passing accuracy than Monreal's 97.1% - Manchester City's John Stones on 97.6%.
