Nemanja Matic claims Chelsea are good enough to win everything this season.

Chelsea hardman Matic insists the players are chasing an incredible haul of four trophies this season after staying going into Christmas as Premier League leaders.

They are already in the Capital One Cup semi final, are through to the last 16 of the Champions League and begin their FA Cup campaign next month with a home tie to Watford.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho tried to ban his players from talking about a possible quadruple after their Capital One Cup win at Derby last week - but Matic insists it can be done.

Matic said: “I think it’s possible, we have a chance so it’s possible, I don’t want to say that we’re going to win [it] but we’re going to try.

“We have quality but other teams are also strong, other teams and they have quality. But we will try and we will see if we can do it. I am confident, I believe in my team, my team-mates, so everything is possible.

“It’s always important when you are mentally prepared to win especially, and in this moment we are confident, we are top of the table so everything is OK in this moment and we will try to continue like this.”

Matic also insisted Chelsea have got the depth of squad to complete the unprecedented trophy haul. Manchester United won the Treble in 1999 with the title, FA Cup and Champions League.

But Matic added: “We are Chelsea, we have 25 players ready to play in every moment, so it’s very important for us that it doesn’t matter who plays, we play always the same and we play like a team.

“We play like we want, so it’s very important for us, for our coach, so I’m happy because of that so I will try to continue.”

Matic played a key role in Chelsea’s highly impressive win at Stoke on Monday night which keeps them top for Christmas.

Mourinho, who enjoyed a clean sweep of domestic and European trophies while at Inter Milan, is just focusing on the title race but he has told BT Sport’s Clare Balding that the Premier League is the hardest of all titles to win.

Mourinho told BT Sport: “I feel we can do it. We are ready to do it, we prepared ourselves to do it. We really believe that we are going to do it.

But at the same time, feet on the ground. You have to understand the country where we play.

“I think the level of competition in this country makes things more difficult than everywhere, but at the same time its more beautiful because every point is a point, every game is a game and every weekend is a weekend and emotions from the beginning till the end.”
