Neymar and Philippe Coutinho couldn't resist pulling an age-old trick on Brazil's mascot during a training session ahead of their game with Colombia.

The Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool footballers were photographed approaching the mascot named Canarinho before Neymar bent down behind it.

Coutinho then pushed the massive canary backwards and over the top of Neymar, causing the man inside the costume to fall to the ground.

The duo were then seen laughing their heads off like children before getting back to work ahead of their World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday.

Liverpool fans will be delighted to see a smile back on the face of Coutinho following a difficult few weeks for the Brazilian.

After handing in a transfer request in a bid to push through a move to Barcelona, Coutinho was told he had to stay at Anfield as the club rejected huge bids for his services.

The transfer window slammed shut without the Brazilian completing his dream move, and, following Jurgen Klopp's recent comments on the midfielder, he now looks set to return for Liverpool against Manchester City next time out.

Brazil have already secured first place in their World Cup qualifying group, despite having three games left to play.

Colombia are second in the mini league but a full 11 points behind the illustrious leaders.
