Liverpool fans, remember Oussama Assaidi? We won't blame you if you don't.

The Moroccan winger arrived at Anfield from Dutch club Heerenveen in a £2.4m deal in the summer of 2012 as part of Brendan Rodgers' first summer of transfer spending, but to say his impact was minimal would be an understatement.

He played just 12 times for the Reds, with only four of those games coming in the Premier League, before departing for two more successful loan spells with Stoke City and then a move to Al-Ahli in Dubai. These days he's back in the Netherlands with Twente, but he only featured five times for them last season.

But it seems as though all of that caught the eye of EA Sports.

Because Assaidi is among the 39 players the games giant have given the maximum five-star skills ratings to for the new FIFA 18 game - while Lionel Messi is not.

Barcelona's four-time Ballon d'Or winner has a four-star rating for skills on the game, along with the likes of Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard and Antoine Griezmann.

No-one's told him the news yet (

Assaidi isn't the only surprise name on that list of 39, either.

It doesn't feature any British players, but does feature an Irishman in the form of Sunderland's Aiden McGeady.

Yes, that Aiden McGeady.

Only five current Premier League players make the five-star cut, in the form of Manchester United's Paul Pogba, Leicester's Riyad Mahrez, Southampton's Sofiane Boufal, Everton's Yannick Bolasie and exciting Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda.
