Per Mertesacker has always come across as one of the more jovial members of the Arsenal squad, and he proved it again on Wednesday with some textbook trolling of teammate Shkodran Mustafi .
As spotted by our friends at Football.London , the 'BFG' (Big, er, 'Friendly' German) was in fine form on Twitter, when he turned a joke from club and country teammate Mustafi into a chance to demonstrate his fine, if surprising, Photoshop skills.
And what skills they are.
With the Gunners returning from the international break and looking ahead to this weekend's north London derby against high-flying Tottenham Hotspur, Mustafi tried to take away some of the tension of the week with a little training ground update.
The 25-year-old centre-back shared a picture of himself alongside two training dummies, declaring them to be Mertesacker and their diminutive teammate Santi Cazorla .
"May I introduce to you: On the left my amigo [Cazorla] and on the right of course BFG Mertesacker," he wrote in a tweet alongside the picture.
Not one to allow himself simply be a part of someone else's joke, Mertesacker fired back immediately commenting on his size.
The club captain showed off his Photoshopping skills as he corrected the image from Mustafi's post, reminding him of why he is called the 'Big F***ing German' in the first place.
"That's Aaron Ramsey my friend, this would be me," he explained.
