Petr Cech has paid tribute to late Indonesian goalkeeper Choirul Huda.

The 38-year-old died after colliding with a Persela teammate during a match against Semen Padang on Sunday.

Huda was rushed to hospital but pronounced dead soon afterwards.

The goalkeeper suffered trauma to his head and neck with the collision leading to a cardiac arrest.

Arsenal goalkeeper Cech took to social media to pay tribute to Huda.

Cech suffered a skull fracture during Chelsea's encounter with Reading in 2006 after a collision with Stephen Hunt.

He required emergency brain surgery and missed three months of action.

Cech returned wearing a protective head guard and has done so ever since.

Speaking last year, he said: "It was a very close call. A few pieces of bone went in quite deep, that was the biggest danger.

"The more they go in, the left side of the brain (where Cech was injured) is quite an important centre of movement. Anything could happen.

"If you ask my wife, even now, she does not look too well. For her, the experience was a thousand times worse than it was for me.
