Ragnar Klavan is an odd Liverpool player in many respects.

The 32-year-old isn't exactly the most glamorous of footballers, and only tends to fill in whenever one of Jurgen Klopp's not entirely solid centre-backs is unavailable through injury, illness or just not being very good.

Klavan can sometimes be okay, but most people tend to be of the opinion that the Estonian won't be around at Anfield for much longer.

So he seems determined to make an impact.

And that is exactly what he's done in the last two games.

Klavan is occasionally turned to by Jurgen Klopp (

Because Klavan seems to have invented a new skill that he's determined to showcase. Even if it is utterly pointless.

In a move that shows he's unlikely to rival the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Klavan lets the ball roll either past him or through his legs, then turns to his right - and it is only to the right, he can't turn left, a la Derek Zoolander - and sprints after it.

All under no pressure at all.

First he did it against Huddersfield on Saturday, when he was selected after Dejan Lovren pulled out in the warm-up.

The ball was played into Klavan, who has no-one near him

But he knows exactly how fast it is going, and so he spins around to his right

Now facing the opposite direction, he picks it up again, no doubt fooling the opposition (if only there were any of the opposition near him). Genius, right?!

And then he did it again against Maribor in the Champions League on Wednesday, albeit in a slight different manner.

Checking over his left shoulder, he prepares to receive the ball

But, what's this? He lets it roll through his legs

Then he spins around and sees Alberto Moreno - AND NO OPPOSITION PLAYER - immediately in front of him

Fans on Twitter can't get over it.

Keep it up, Ragnar!

The Ballon d'Or awaits.
