All credit should go to Tottenham for their excellent display against Real Madrid at Wembley on Wednesday, when they simply took apart the European champions to win 3-1.

Mauricio Pochettino's men were superb at their temporary home , with Dele Alli scoring either side of half-time - the first controversially, admittedly - and Christian Eriksen adding a third, before Cristiano Ronaldo pulled one back.

Zinedine Zidane's side - who have won the Champions League in three of the last four years - were terrible though, as they looked a shadow of their usual selves.

The performance followed on from their 2-1 defeat at Girona on Sunday, and deepened the sense of gloom at the Bernabeu club.

On social media, there was no hiding place.

Ouch!
