Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand took to Instagram to show off his latest boxing training session - and he looks absolutely ripped.

The ex-England defender completed his morning routine while singing along to Michael Jackson's song Dirty Diana.

Ferdinand, who is expected to make his boxing debut in 2018, captioned next to the video: "Starting the morning with a few Shoulder Touches & Michael Jackson!"

The 38-year-old announced his plan to become a professional boxer as part of Betfair 's 'Defender to Contender' challenge earlier this month.

Ferdinand retired from top flight football two years ago and has managed to stay in excellent shape ever since.

After making his announcement, Ferdinand said: "When Betfair approached me about the Defender to Contender challenge, the chance to prove myself in a new sport was a real draw."

Tony Bellew, however, hit out at Ferdinand after his decision to enter the ring.

"He’s making a mockery of our sport,” blasted Bellew, speaking to betsafe.com . "This sport is not a game, it’s a serious sport and can be very dangerous.

"This is attention seeking of the highest order. I understand that he might have frustrations that he wants to get out.

"But I believe he could do that in the gym, why does he need to go in a boxing ring?"
