Benfica's Mile Svilar became the Champions League's youngest ever goalkeeper on Wednesday night - but his special night ended with him apologising to his own fans.

The 18-year-old Belgian shot-stopper, who was yet to play a single game for Benfica prior to the club's huge Champions League clash against Manchester United, was at fault for the only goal of the game.

Marcus Rashford's free-kick caught the teenager off guard causing him to run backwards and catch the ball.

However, Svilar had carried the ball across his own goal line.

At full-time, the young goalkeeper went over to Benfica's fans in the Stadium of Light and apologised.

Feeling for Svilar, Romelu Lukaku went over to console his countryman.
