Pep Guardiola has revealed why he's not been starting Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus together lately, and instead rotating between the pair.
The Manchester City strikers have been on fire this season, with 10 goals apiece in all competitions.
But rather than partnering both up front using different tactics, the City boss has chosen one or the other in his trusted 4-2-3-1 formation.
Speaking prior to City's Champions League clash against Feyenoord, Guardiola revealed the reason for keeping the two apart has been tactical and "tough"... and also down to Benjamin Mendy's injury.
"Both have different qualities - they deserve to play," said Guardiola. "They have a lot of games and they have to be ready. It is the toughest decision.
"Yeah in the moment we had Mendy [they could play together]. When you have Mendy, he can play wide and the winger can go inside.
"Fabian Delph cannot do that. Without Mendy, Leroy Sane has to go wide, which is why they don't play together.
"Sergio after the crash, he was fit. He is fit. For me he is so tough. So is Gabriel."
The £52million summer signing suffered a serious knee ligament injury against Crystal Palace earlier in the season.
With the Frenchman targeting the Champions League semi-finals as his return date, Jesus and Aguero may not play together until April earliest.
