Sevilla star Wissam Ben Yedder took aim at an Arsenal fan on Twitter after the La Liga side beat the Gunners in the Emirates Cup .

Due to vagaries of every Gunners' fan's pre-season tournament, Arsenal ended up lifting the trophy, despite losing 2-1 to Sevilla, who won both of their games.

Goals scored are worth a point in the final standings, so Arsene Wenger's men reaped the rewards of their 5-2 win over Benfica on Saturday.

Following the match Ben Yedder took to Twitter to question the logic of the format, which soon alerted the attention of angry Arsenal fans.

After one singled out the Frenchman with a vicious tweet, the 26-year-old responded with a zinger.

"Ahahah dont be mad bro you may get your revenge in Champions Le..... Oh wait," he posted.

The Gunners, of course, failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 20 years last season.

Earlier Ben Yedder cheekily told the Gunners to hand his side the trophy.

"We won 2/2 but we are not first... give us back the cup Arsenal ahaha".

Alexandre Lacazette scored his first home goal for the Gunners in Sunday's clash, but former Stoke midfielder Steven N'Zonzi's winner sealed a 2-1 win for the La Liga side.

This was the fifth time that the Gunners have lifted the Emirates Cup since the first edition in 2007.
