Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid are enduring a difficult start to the La Liga season.

Zinedine Zidane's side are already eight points adrift of rivals Barcelona having won just seven of their 11 games.

Ronaldo meanwhile has managed just one La Liga goal, although he has scored another six in the Champions League.

But his league form will be of a concern to the Portuguese superstar, who has the worst strike rate across Europe's five major leagues, reports AS .

Of course, not every player is taken into account with Opta's stats only including those with at least 10 shots.

But with just one goal from 48 shots, Ronaldo's strike rate stands at a staggering 2.08 percent.

That places the former Manchester United star as low as 710th in the ranking of efficiency.

Lionel Messi has had the most shots across the top five leagues, scoring 12 times from a staggering 69 attempts on goal.

Tottenham's Harry Kane is next on the list, although he has only managed eight goals from his 59 shots.

In terms of the most efficient players, former Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao leads the way.

The Colombian has scored an impressive 13 times from his 26 attempts on goal so far.

United's Anthony Martial is the sole Premier League representative in the top five.
