Thierry Henry has attempted to explain why Romelu Lukaku was ineffective for Manchester United in their goalless draw with Liverpool.
The Belgium international has been in tantalising form this season, and is currently the Premier League's top scorer with seven goals.
But despite being able to find the back of the net at will, Lukaku's ability to score against the biggest teams in the division has been questioned.
All eyes were on the Belgian as he attempted to become the first player in Premier League history to score eight goals in the first eight games of a season as Man United took to the pitch at Anfield on Saturday.
But the £75million summer signing failed to have any impact on the game as the bitter rivals recorded a bore draw in the early fixture.
Speaking about Lukaku's performance after the final whistle, Thierry Henry attempted to explain why he thinks the Belgian was relatively ineffective.
"I think he was too eager to score that goal that everyone would be talking about against a big team," said the Arsenal legend on Sky Sports.
"This is the first time he has had to do it with a Manchester United shirt on.
"And I think he was too eager in the first half and he wasn't in the right frame of mind to finish that one vs one he had with [Simon] Mignolet and sometimes that does play on your mind.
"But like I said he will have other opportunities to rectify that."
