Tottenham star Dele Alli teamed up with Rays of Sunshine to deliver an activity day at Evelina London Children's Hospital as part of National Play in Hospitals Week.

The England international took time out from Spurs' preparation for Bournemouth this weekend, posing for pictures with the children.

And Alli, an ambassador for the charity, expressed his delight at being able to take part in the day and give the seriously ill children a day to remember.

"I had a great afternoon with Rays of Sunshine at their Activity Day at Evelina London Children's Hospital," said Alli. "It was a pleasure to meet such amazing families and children."

Football mad Billy, 17, who currently lives with hypertension, could not hide his delight at the surprise visit from Alli, who he watched live at his team Middlesbrough.

"I was told that someone was coming for a visit but I had no idea who it was until he arrived," said Billy. "I recognised Dele Alli straight away and was completely shocked! I'm a huge footy fan and have seen him play at my local football club, Middlesbrough.

"We had a great chat about football and made a soft toy each. Dele made a pink cat and named it after his brother, Harry, then gave it to me to give to my mum for her birthday!

"It was nice to spend a bit of time off the ward and take my mind off things, it's an afternoon I'll always remember."
