Arsene Wenger has spoken of Arsenal's need to go gung-ho in their quest to pull off mission impossible and qualify for the last eight of the Champions League.

The Gunners trail 2-0 from the first-leg at the Emirates three weeks ago and need a miracle to progress away to the defending champions.

However, Wenger is firmly of the belief that anything can happen in football and has urged his team to go all out attack.

"We are in a position where we don’t have to calculate too much," Wenger said. "We know we have to attack and score goals.

"We have gone through a disappointing spell and it is important to remain calm and strong.”

The Gunners boss also gave a passionate defence of his position at the club after a run of just one win in seven games.

“I have no doubt about my huge motivation. I built the club, and the way I did it was with hard work. I had no external resources," he added.

“If you compare the club when I arrived and how it is today it is moved forward, and without any help from anybody.

“I am more motivated than the day I arrived, and I feel even more the pressure and the responsibility to keep this club moving forward."
