Wayne Rooney could be set for another hair transplant after pictures showed his hair thinning six years on from his first surgery.

The England international took the plunge in 2011 at London's Harley Street Hair Clinic.

But despite splashing out £30,000 to rejuvenate his scalp, according to the Sun, the Everton star appears to have suffered a setback.

Rooney, who turns 32 tomorrow, was snapped signing shirts at a charity event.

Two years on from his first treatment, Rooney returned for a top up.

But it now seems the long-standing issue will require further attention.

The former England captain scored a stunner vs Arsenal at the weekend, but could not prevent the Toffees from suffering a 5-2 defeat.

Ronald Koeman has since been sacked with David Unsworth installed as caretaker manager.
