Wayne Rooney has been pictured back behind the wheel arriving at Everton's training ground as he returns to the club following his drink-drive arrest.

Rooney drove into Finch Farm in his Range Rover and didn't give much away as boss Ronald Koeman also arrived.

As exclusively revealed by the Mirror last week, Rooney was arrested by police for being at the wheel of a car following a 10-hour binge.

He was pulled over in a VW Beetle, belonging to a 29-year-old female office worker, who he had been drinking with on the night out.

Rooney was later charged by officers and released on bail to appear at Stockport Magistrates Court on September 18.

The former Manchester United striker is set for showdown talks with Toffees boss Koeman today - and could be fined £320,000.

Koeman brought Rooney to Goodison Park in the summer and will take a dim view of the former England captain bringing the club into disrepute.

He will also threaten to dump Rooney on the transfer list if he steps out of line again.

The Dutchman had concerns over Rooney’s drinking habits and in a frank discussion prior to Rooney putting pen to paper. Koeman, a strict disciplinarian, demanded there would be no more booze-fuelled antics.

He wanted Rooney to act as a mentor to the club’s young players and not be a bad influence with his off the field high jinks.

That mandate has gone up in smoke after Rooney was stopped by police near his Cheshire home in the early hours of Friday morning.

The only current saving grace for the forward is that the club failed to secure all their striking targets in the transfer window and that the incident happened during an international break.

Rooney has scored twice in the opening three Premier League games of the season.
