Andy Carroll was sent off during West Ham's Premier League clash with Burnley after receiving two bookings in as many minutes.

The Hammers striker got his first yellow from referee Stuart Attwell for a strong aerial challenge on Clarets defender James Tarkowski.

And former Newcastle and Liverpool forward Carroll was given first use of the shower gel 60 seconds later when he led with his elbow when jumping for the ball with Ben Mee.

The 28-year-old remonstrated with Attwell over the decision.

However, man in the middle brandished another yellow before sending the forward down the tunnel.

Michail Antonio had given the Hammers an early lead, but Carroll's dismissal leaves them playing the remaining hour a man short at Turf Moor.
