Manchester United lost out in Skopje as Real Madrid added yet another trophy to their incredible haul.

Goals from Casemiro and Isco secured a 2-1 win for Zinedine Zidane's me n, with Romelu Lukaku on target for United.

The Red Devils have progressed significantly under Jose Mourinho but this defeat was a reminder of what they still have to do.

Attention now turns to West Ham on Sunday for United, while Real take on Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup.

But who caught the eye - and who endured a disappointing night?

Here are the winners and losers from the clash in Skopje.

Winners

Isco

He ended last season superbly and Isco continued where he left off, here.

The Spaniard started in behind Benzema and was at the heart of everything in the first-half - before scoring early in the second.

His goal was brilliant too, playing a one-two with Bale before easily beating De Gea.

After years of being in and out of the side, he now looks a vital member of Zidane's set-up.

With Benzema and Ronaldo certainties in the three forward positions, it appears a toss-up between Isco and Gareth Bale for the final slot.

On current form, there is only one winner.

Nemanja Matic

In a tough first-half for Mourinho's men, Matic showed his worth.

The Serb was the most impressive of United's midfield three as they struggled to match Real's trio of Casemiro, Kroos and Modric.

He was regularly on hand to break up play, with his passing ability also catching the eye.

His arrival was met with a mixed reaction by United fans, largely down to the £40million they coughed up for him.

But Matic has seamlessly fitted into the United side, with Chelsea struggling without him on Sunday.

He was outstanding for Mourinho upon returning to Stamford Bridge in 2014 and his big-money move appears decent business, again.

David De Gea

A contrasting evening for the two goalkeepers in Skopje.

David De Gea may have conceded twice but on a night where his goal took a battering, the Spaniard came away with some credit. The same cannot be said for the man at the other end, Keylor Navas.

He looked shaky early on as he came racing out of his goal before spilling a Paul Pogba header into the path of Lukaku.

The Belgian somehow missed but didn't make the same mistake moments later when Navas failed to hold onto Matic's shot.

Navas has been an excellent goalkeeper for Real but replacing him with De Gea would certainly make Real even stronger.

That potential move has been doing the rounds for years now but there's no secret Zidane admires United's No.1

It may be too late in the day for this summer but expect this one to be revisited in 12 months time.

Marouane Fellaini

It appeared the Belgian was heading out of Old Trafford this summer with a move to Turkey on the cards.

Jose Mourinho was quick to quash those rumours and insisted Fellaini was a vital member of his squad.

And despite having the likes of Martial and Mata on the bench, the United boss turned to Fellaini to try and get his side back in the game.

It may not be pretty but it is certainly effective and Fellaini's presence certainly rattled the Real defence.

He even turned a bit John McEnroe too after being bandaged up following a blow to the head!

Losers

Victor Lindelof

It's been a tricky pre-season for the Swedish defender following his big-money move from Benfica.

At 23, Lindelof is still relatively young and it is far too early to write him off.

But this was enough iffy display for United's summer signing.

He was spun by Isco early on before being caught out for the opening goal.

Casemiro managed to get in between the Swede and Antonio Valencia, and although the flag should probably have gone up, the United pair should have done more.

Lindelof will be given time but it's been a rude awakening in a red shirt.

Jesse Lingard

Lingard managed just 45 minutes in Skopje before being withdrawn at the break.

He has had a mixed pre-season, impressing against Real but struggling against Barca.

And it was a case of the latter here as the England international remained on the periphery before his exit.

His most telling contribution was a late challenge on Isco, which he rightly went into the book for.

With Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata and Anthony Martial all vying for a starting spot, Lingard simply must do more to have any chance of keeping his shirt.
