Adnan Januzaj is set to complete a £9.8million move from Manchester United to Real Sociedad on Wednesday.

The winger, who spent last season on loan at Sunderland, was left out of United's pre-season tour of the US ahead of his permanent switch.

Januzaj, 22, made a promising start to life at Old Trafford and was promoted to the first-team squad by Sir Alex Ferguson towards the end of the 2012/13 season.

David Moyes handed the Belgian his first start against Sunderland in October 2013 and he scored twice at the Stadium of Light as United came from behind to win 2-1.

But with the world seemingly at his feet, his impact faded amid allegations of a poor attitude.

He slumped under Louis van Gaal, flopped on loan with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund and failed to make an impression when the Black Cats were relegated.

United boss Jose Mourinho signalled the end of Januzaj''s time at Old Trafford when he omitted him from the squad to head Stateside.

However, Sociedad will hope he can recapture his best form at the Anoeta Stadium.
