Mesut Ozil's decision on his future will have ramifications for Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.

The German is currently refusing to pen a new deal with the Gunners, just like Sanchez.

Arsenal are facing a dilemma as to whether they should keep hold of both men until the season when their contracts expire, or try and recover a fee in January.

With no interest in Ozil at present, the Daily Star report that Arsenal are more determined to ensure they get a decent deal for Sanchez in January.

That would then reportedly give Ozil leverage to demand a bigger contract in the back end of the season.

Wenger claims Ozil 'genuinely' wants to stay at Arsenal

Mesut Ozil does want to stay at Arsenal, despite failing to agree a new deal, writes Football.London's Andy Ha.

That is the opinion of Arsene Wenger.

The German’s current deal with Arsenal expires in the summer of 2018, meaning that the three-time FA Cup winner could walk away for free amidst reported interest from Manchester United, report football.london.

Wenger responded to that speculation this week by admitting that the club could cash in on the former Real Madrid attacker in January, along with Alexis Sanchez.

However, the Frenchman has since admitted that Ozil could be open to agreeing a new deal at The Emirates.

He said: “I cannot tell you what is in his mind. I genuinely think he wants to stay. But I am always positive about that."

Premier League trio tracking Barcelona starlet

Premier League big guns Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal are tracking Barcelona starlet Abel Ruiz, reports Mirror Football's John Cross.

But Ruiz, who has been playing for Barcelona B, has a £3million buy-out on his contract which expires in 2019.

Barcelona have been keen to renegotiate to stop him leaving on the cheap but the English clubs are aware of the situation.

Arsenal and Chelsea have sounded out Ruiz’s representatives while City are also watching developments.
