Italian giants Napoli are after Arsenal sensation Marcus McGuane, according to reports.

McGuane is being targeted by a host of top clubs, with Scottish side Rangers reportedly leading the chase with a loan offer.

The Sun report that Napoli have been keeping a close eye on the midfield enforcer, 18, but Arsenal do not want to sell.

Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen to give McGuane loan time, however, making Rangers the favourites for his signature.

McGuane has been capped by England at Under-17, 18 and 19 level.

Wenger fumes at West Brom penalty call

Angry Arsene Wenger ended 2017 with a double blast at Premier League refereeing and top-flight scheduling.

The Gunners boss was fuming after his side conceded an 89th minute penalty to draw 1-1 at lowly West Brom.

The Frenchman stormed: “Two things that are not normal in the Premier League is the schedule and referees.

“It wasn't a penalty. There was no handball. It was not a deliberate handball. He didn't lift his hand. It was down there.

“Where do you put your hands? You have no pockets in your shorts. The referee has not seen it. That's my opinion. I'm angry because we have seen the same things again.

“I did fight very hard for the referees to become professional many years ago but I see no improvement.

“There are two countries in Europe where you have professional referees, in Italy and in England, and not one English referee will go to the World Cup.

“But we cannot say a word against it because they're untouchable.”

Wenger furious with fixture scheduling

Arsene Wenger has slammed the Premier League's scheduling as his Arsenal side prepare to take on Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The Blues will have had an extra day's rest compared to the Gunners having seen off Stoke 5-0 on Saturday.

“What can you do – talk and talk and talk but it doesn’t change anything.

"The Premier League does face a problem with the scheduling and referees.

"I tried hard with referees to help them become professional. The level of the referees unfortunately doesn’t go up.

"It’s not the first time it happened but it’s best we don’t talk about it.

"I believe West Brom had five days to prepare and we had three. The Premier League has to look at when the schedule is fair and unfair, on our side it’s unfair.

"Since the start of the season you have to look at it."
