Arsenal have joined Liverpool and Manchester City in the race for Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka.

That is according to Bild, who say the Confederations Cup midfielder is now also attracting attention from the Gunners and Manchester United.

However, Goretzka is apparently only interested in a move to Barcelona or Bayern Munich, having reportedly agreed to join Bayern from the start of next season.

But the Bavarians' difficult start to the season could see him turn his attention to the Nou Camp instead.

Arsene Wenger has admitted Alexandre Lacazette is still adapting to the 'physical aspect' of the Premier League following his switch to north London from Lyon.

The Frenchman has enjoyed a reasonable start to life at the Emirates, scoring twice in five top-flight fixtures.

"I believe he has first of all adapted to the team play, he connects well with the other players, he is disciplined, he works hard for the team and on the technical and tactical aspect I am very pleased," said the Arsenal boss.

"He still needs to adapt to the physical aspect of the Premier League and that will take a little bit of time, but on the other fronts there is no problem at all."

Jack Wilshere's Arsenal future depends on whether he is able stay fit.

The 25-year-old, whose contract expires next summer, impressed in the Carabao Cup win over Doncaster on Wednesday night.

But after a senior career with the Gunners littered with injuries, Wilshere’s prospects of a new contract rest on his ability to steer clear of the treatment room.

Asked about a new deal for the England midfielder, Arsene Wenger said: “That is down to the fact that he came remain fit or not.

“I think he’s an Arsenal man and an Arsenal player. He would certainly like to [stay], I don’t know."
