Here are all the latest Gunners stories from today's Daily Mirror and other news outlets...

Ozil Real return?

Real Madrid are reportedly plotting a bid to entice Mesut Ozil back to the Bernabeu.

Don Balon report that Real are ready to sell James Rodriguez, and could look to their former midfielder to replace him.

Ozil is enjoying arguably his best run of form since leaving the Spanish capital with Los Blancos reportedly satisfied he is now a more rounded player.

Any fee is likely to far surpass the £42.4million the Gunners paid for his services in 2013.

Arsenal will reportedly battle north London rivals Tottenham for the signature of Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi.

The 22-year-old found the net in each of his first two international appearances, and has caught the eye of the Gunners, according to the Telegraph.

Spurs have a strong Belgian contingent already at White Hart Lane, with Batshuayi being compared to countrymen Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke.

Batshuayi combines power with finesse and would likely command a considerable fee.

Everton tracking Chambers

Everton boss Roberto Martinez is keeping tabs on Calum Chambers' situation at Arsenal.

Chambers has featured in less than half of the fixtures the Gunners have played this season, with Hector Bellerin keeping him out at right-back and Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista all ahead of him in the centre.

Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy have to battle it out for a start when Bellerin is missing - and when Debuchy is fit - and Martinez is aware that a lack of game-time for the 20-year-old could open up the possibility of a move.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said last week that, while Chambers was signed as a defender from Southampton, in the long term he always believed his best position would be defensive midfield, writes Mirror Football's Tom Hopkinson.

Martinez, however, likes him as a defender and will monitor his position at the north London club.

Arsene Wenger has warned his Arsenal players against underestimating an Aston Villa team battling for their Premier League lives, writes Mirror Football's Steve Stammers.

Top meets bottom at Villa Park this afternoon – with added spice coming from the arrival as Villa manager of Remi Garde.

“That message will be stressed to the players,” said Wenger. “The luck we had last week was that we won a game that could have gone the other way and the other results went for us.

“But Villa need the points just as we do. It is a dangerous match. That means it will be a physical battle. That is why we have to focus straight away on the Premier League after last Wednesday night.

"We need to recover mentally and physically. But we have shown the maturity to focus on both competitions.”
