Wenger: All my players want to stay

Arsene Wenger claims all of Arsenal's players want to stay at the club.

Despite failing to win any of their last three Premier League games, the Gunners boss is confident he will be able to keep hold of his star players.

"All of our players want to stay here," Wenger said ahead of his side's final match of the season against West Brom.

The Gunners boss was speaking as speculation surrounding Raheem Sterling's Liverpool future continues to rumble on.

And he says the situation at Anfield has only been made worse by the matter being brought into the public eye.

“I don't want to single out people but discretion is the best way to deal with things," Wenger added, "because once it goes public it is very difficult to master and there are so many different opinions.

“For us, honestly, it is always adds difficulties once it is public.”

Ramsey gunning for central berth

Aaron Ramsey has told Arsene Wenger he does not want to play out on the right.

Arsenal star Ramsey has now been restored to his favoured central midfield role, revealing he has held talks with boss Wenger after getting frustrated at being stuck on the wing.

Ramsey admits he has played wide to do a job for the Gunners, but was happy to start in the middle against Sunderland on Wednesday after being switched inside during the draw at Manchester United three days earlier.

He said: “I’m not hiding away from it, I want to be playing in the middle. I’ve had chats with the manager about it. I showed at Manchester United what I’m capable of doing when I go into the middle of the park.

“But the manager said he wants me do a job out there for the moment and obviously I’ll do that for him. But I prefer to play in the middle.

"We have wingers on the bench, but he’s still picking me out wide.

“Santi Cazorla is the one in my position. He’s the one who plays alongside Francis Coquelin and tries to get forward. I am trying to get that back."

Wenger: There's a date in the diary for Walcott talks

Arsene Wenger has confirmed 'there is a date in the diary' for contract talks withTheo Walcott.

The England winger has only 12 months left on his current deal, but Arsenal are keen to extend his stay beyond the end of next season.

Walcott has been blighted by injury in the last two years, playing only 13 Premier League games last term, and so far managing the same number this campaign, with one game left to play.

Only three of those appearances have been from the starting line-up, but Wenger insists the 26-year-old is still very much part of his long-term plans.

The Frenchman said: "Yes there is a date in the diary for the next contract talks.

“I bought him from Southampton when he was 17 because I believe in his qualities as a finisher," said Wenger. "The timing of his runs is very intelligent.

“He is at the best age now. Being 26 to 32 as a striker is the best age and I would not like to miss that golden age.”

Ox could be fit for FA Cup final

Arsene Wenger hasn’t given up hope of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain being fit for the FA Cup final.

Midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain has been out since the start of March, firstly with a groin injury and then a hamstring problem.

England boss Roy Hodgson left Oxlade-Chamberlain out of his latest squad on Thursday and claimed “he would be surprised” if the Arsenal star was fit to face Aston Villa on May 30.

But Oxlade-Chamberlain, who also missed last year’s cup final due to injury, is back in full training today.

Wenger said: “No it is not impossible (that he plays in the cup final) because he starts full training today and we will see how he responds to that.”
