Arsenal have confirmed the signing of David Ospina from Nice.

The goalkeeper, who starred for Colombia during the World Cup in Brazil, joins the club "on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee."

Ospina, 25, made 189 league appearances for the French club, whom he joined from Atletico Nacional. He is one cap away from a half-century of appearances for his country.

“David Ospina is an excellent goalkeeper, with good experience and a proven record of performing with Nice and Colombia," said Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

"He will add strength to our squad and we are very pleased that he will be joining us."
