Arsenal have slapped an £8million price tag on the head of Kieran Gibbs.

Sunday People Sport understands he will be allowed to leave the Emirates at that figure, contrary to reports suggesting that left-back is up for grabs at twice that amount.

Gibbs, 27, has just 12 months remaining on his current contract.

He is seeking a £70,000-a-week pay deal – a figure that put off a number of suitors given that he played just 11 times in the Premier League for Arsene Wenger last term.

Gibbs only figured in 10 Premier League games for the Gunners last season after losing his place to Nacho Monreal.

Newcastle are among the teams that have shown interested in Gibbs' services.

Benitez believes the left-back would bring valuable experience to his side as they step back into the Premier League.
