Alexis Sanchez is reportedly set to demand £160,000-a-week when he enters contract talks with Arsenal at the end of the season.

The Gunners want to tie the Chilean star down for another three years, keeping him at the Emirates until the summer of 2019, according to The Sun.

Sanchez is also apparently seeking assurances Arsenal will compete for honours both domestically and in Europe before penning a new deal.

He has been a sensation since arriving in north London for £32million from Barcelona in 2014.

Barca battle for Nolito?

Hitman: Barcelona still want to sign Nolito

Arsenal have suffered a blow in their pursuit for Celta Vigo striker Nolito.

Barcelona have not given up on luring the forward to the Nou Camp, and are ready to renew their interest in the summer.

The 29-year-old looked set to complete a move to Barca in January, according to talkSPORT, but the transfer fell through at the 11th hour.

He has scored eight goals in 15 La Liga appearances this term.

Rosicky: Ozil and Sanchez can win us title

Key men: Ozil and Sanchez can win the league for Arsenal, says Rosicky

Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are the ‘game-changers’ to inspire Arsenal to the title, according to Tomas Rosicky.

The £42million German has six goals and 16 assists this season, while the £30m Chilean has netted 10 times despite a two-month absence with a hamstring injury, writes Mirror Football's Neil McLeman.

Mesut was always a special talent and you could see that when he arrived here,” Rosicky said.

“He was out for some time last season so he couldn’t find his rhythm, but now, after playing since the start of the season, everyone here can see [how big a talent he is]."

Laurent Koscielny has spoken of his pride at being handed the Arsenal captain's armband against Bournemouth this weekend.

The Frenchman was named skipper against the Cherries and helped his team to a hard-earned away win thanks to goals from Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

And despite having had the honour before in cup contests Koscielny admits he was delighted to lead the Gunners out for the first time in a league contest, writes Mirror Football's Ben Burrows.

“It’s more pride. It was the first time in the league. I’d already had the armband in the Cup against Sunderland and then Burnley, but this honour doesn’t add more pressure," he told France Football.
