Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a £45m deal to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco.

The Gunners had identified the French international as one of their top summer targets but had been frustrated in their pursuit.

But the Sun reports Arsenal have finally made a breakthrough.

Lemar now hopes Monaco will give him the green light to make the switch so he is in north London for this weekend's Emirates Cup.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal will get their man.

Chelsea are still interested in Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain , reports Darren Lewis.

Liverpool lead the chase for Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has just a year left on his contract.

The England international, 23, is keen to leave the Emirates in search of regular first-team action in his favoured central midfield role.

Chelsea are also hopeful of securing a deal for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.

Arsenal striker Lucas Perez has moved a step closer to finalising a move away from the club after his agent arrived in London for talks over his future.

Perez joined the Gunners in a £17million deal from Deportivo La Coruna last summer but has failed to secure a regular first-team place.

The Spanish forward only started one Premier League game and was never given a chance to showcase his talents in the top flight.

Perez now wants a return to Spain and Deportivo are attempting to re-sign him, but so far they are yet to hear back from Arsenal after they submitted a £9m offer.
