Arsenal will be without Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny for their opening day clash with Liverpool.

The trio all played in the latter stages of Euro 2016 with Giroud and Koscielny appearing in the final as France lost to Portugal.

And Arsene Wenger has admitted he will be without the trio for next weekend's opener.

Speaking after Arsenal's 8-0 friendly rout of Norwegian outfit Viking on Friday, Wenger said: "The Liverpool game will come too early for them."

Arsenal are already without Per Mertesacker meaning Gabriel is set to be partnered with either Rob Holding or Calum Chambers.

Arsenal target Julian Draxler has reportedly been fined by Wolfsburg.

The German international has demanded to leave the club and claims he was promised a transfer if a European club came in for him.

Everton are also thought to be keen but may struggle to lure Draxler to Goodison.

According to Bild, Draxler could be fined around £85,000 for his comments.

Wolfsburg are determined to keep hold of the player and insist he will not be sold for any price this summer.

Arsene Wenger has revealed that transfer fees are not a problem for Arsenal, but finding the right players is, writes Mirror Football's Hamish Mackay.

Many of the club's fans are growing impatient at the lack of major signings this summer with a striker remaining a priority target.

Arsenal's manager has been accused of frugality in the market, but he insists it is the lack of choice that is the issue.

"It’s not the prices, it’s the players," said Wenger.

"We do not have to panic but we are on alert in the transfer market so that we can make the right move when the opportunity comes up."

Gunners thrash Viking

Arsenal made it three wins from four in pre-season with a comfortable 8-0 win over Viking FK in Norway.

This was Arsenal's biggest pre-season win so far and will provide a timely confidence boost for Arsene Wenger and his under-strength squad.

Joel Campbell tapped in the first after Santi Cazorla had an early penalty saved.

But the Spaniard made up for his miss after the break, lashing the ball into the bottom corner of the net from outside the box. Theo Walcott, Alex Iwobi and Chuba Akpom then added their names to the score-sheet as Arsenal ran riot in the second half.

Here is what we learned.

Mourinho swipe at Wenger

Jose Mourinho has branded rivals Arsene Wenger and Jurgen Klopp “not ethical” for criticising his £100m pursuit of Paul Pogba.

The Manchester United chief wasted no time in launching a season opening skirmish with the Arsenal and Liverpool chiefs.

Mourinho hit out today after Wenger claimed it was “completely crazy” to spend a world record fee on the Juventus star.

And Klopp said of the proposed deal that “the day this is football, I'm not in a job anymore.”

Mourinho expects the transfer of Pogba to complete his squad next week before their Premier League opener and the Portuguese, who leads his side in the Charity Shield against Leicester tomorrow, is fuming that two top rivals have commented on his club’s business.
