Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hinted Theo Walcott could be shown the Emirates exit door at the end of this season.

The England forward has fallen down the pecking order with the Gunners, failing to start a Premier League game since February, report the Daily Mail.

Wenger admitted Walcott's future is uncertain prior to yesterday's draw at Sunderland, which mathematically ended Arsenal's title hopes.

Asked whether the flier could leave, Wenger said: "I don't know yet.

"I'm not in transfer mode at the moment but I think he has gone through a bad spell."

Gunners have 'brainwashed' fans, says Redknapp

Unimpressed: Redknapp hit out at Arsenal

Jamie Redknapp was less than impressed with Arsene Wenger and Arsenal following their draw at Sunderland on Sunday, claiming the club have 'brainwashed' some fans into thinking fourth is good enough.

"It's like groundhog day," he told Sky Sports.

"We've seen so many games like that from Arsenal, where they seem to run out of ideas, look like they're waiting for something to happen. When Alexis Sanchez isn't on form, you wonder who's going to score.

"It looks like they're going to limp into the top four again and that, for me, is boring. They deserve better than that.

"You can't keep doing that and be brainwashed into thinking fourth is good enough. They should be doing more. They should be looking to win the title."

Arsene Wenger claimed the Premier League's congested fixture schedule had an impact on Arsenal's failure to win at Sunderland.

The Gunners were held to a 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light less than 72 hours after their 2-0 victory against West Brom on Thursday night, writes Mirror Football's Simon Bird and Liam Corless.

"I think our first half was very good," Wenger said. "The second half is always more difficult when you play Sunday-Thursday-Sunday. We created less but could still have scored. We should have been in front in the first half."

The result leaves Arsenal in fourth position on 64 points - level with Manchester City but with an inferior goal difference.
