Jack Wilshere's career appears to be in free fall and now Arsenal are prepared to listen to offers for the England international.

A dismissal in the Gunners' under-23 game with Manchester City looks to have damaged his standing in Arsene Wenger's thinking, meaning a move away before next week's deadline is now looking more likely, report the Guardian.

The player has just one year remaining on his contract and with his history of injuries, the list of interested clubs is a short one.

Wenger will have to submit a squad of just 25 senior players by the end of the window and he currently has 28 players, meaning he will need to discard three in the next week or so, making Wilshere a prime candidate.

Arsenal midfielder Jon Toral has left the Emirates to sign a permanent deal at Hull City.

The 22-year-old has spent six years in north London, but failed to make a single senior appearance for the Gunners.

He spent loan spells with Brentford, Birmingham, Granada and Rangers before finally sealing a fixed move away with the Tigers.

The most successful season of his career so far came at St Andrew's where he played 36 Championship games scoring eight goals and being named the Blues' supporters' player of the season and players' player of the season.

Gunners may have to face selling Oxlade-Chamberlain

Arsenal are bracing for the prospect of having to cash in on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain before the end of the summer transfer window.

Boss Arsene Wenger has made a final new-contract offer to the England winger worth £180,000 a week, but Oxlade-Chamberlain is likely to turn it down.

The Gunners would then move to offload him, rather than let the 24-year-old go on a free next summer.

Champions Chelsea lead the chase and appear in pole position.

They are ready to make a £35million offer to try to get him before the window shuts at 11pm next Thursday.

But Liverpool remain interested having booked their place in the Champions League's group stage, and it is likely to become a bidding war between the two Premier League giants.
