Atletico Madrid have urged Diego Costa to return to Chelsea to boost their chances of landing the Spaniard in January.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who say Atletico remain confident of sealing a deal for the striker when the transfer window reopens.

Costa failed to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge over the summer and is unwanted by Blues boss Antonio Conte.

He is currently in Brazil on a self-imposed exile from west London, but Atletico, who are under transfer embargo until January, have apparently advised him to go back.
