Barcelona are confident of completing a deal to sign Philippe Coutinho in January - and believe they are getting a bargain.

The Catalan giants insist the Reds demanded €200million to sign the Brazilian over the summer, but according to Mundo Deportivo, that asking price has now dropped to €150million.

Liverpool say they didn't ask for that price, and were steadfast in their insistence that Coutinho would not be sold.

Barca still don't want to pay as much as €150million, but are seemingly confident of doing business.

Liverpool reportedly refused to negotiate all summer before slapping a €200million price tag on Coutinho on transfer deadline day, a claim the Reds rebuff.

With Ousmane Dembele set to return from injury in January, his comeback and the acquisition of Coutinho would bolster Barca's forward line which already boasts Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

The Catalans have money to spend after selling Neymar for a world-record fee to Paris Saint-Germain over the summer.
