Bayern Munich want to make Alexis Sanchez their highest paid player.

The German giants are negotiating £350,000-a-week deal to blow Manchester City out of the water and end Arsenal’s hopes of keeping him.

Bayern are ready to pay him more than Robert Lewandowski, who is on £300,000-a-week.

They will then offer Arsenal £40million for the Chile striker who has one year left on his current deal.

Sanchez’s agent Fernando Felicevich has already held talks with Bayern and they are confident of getting the deal done.

Sanchez, speaking on international duty, said: “I’m looking at what my agent is doing. For now, I’m focused on the [Confederations] Cup in Russia and trying to do well.

“The truth is that my agent will see to it. He knows and he will sit down with the club to look for the best option for me. I’d like a lot of things but I’m only thinking about the national team.”

Arsenal are still desperate to keep him and fear the saga will drag on throughout the summer but have also offered him in excess of £275,000-a-week.

But Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is also be desperate not to sell Sanchez to a Premier League rival and Bayern now appear to be in the driving seat.

It is understood that Sanchez wants to stay in the Premier League but Arsenal’s pursuit of Kylian Mbappe would suggest they are looking for a new mega-star to keep the fans happy.
