Ben Woodburn is on the brink of landing a loan move to Sunderland, according to the Daily Mail.

The young Liverpool forward is reportedly being sent out on loan to experience regular first-team football.

Manager Jurgen Klopp put Woodburn on the transfer list last month and Sunderland looks to be the likely location.

Sunderland boss Chris Coleman was Wales boss when Woodburn made his international debut and scored a wonder goal against Austria in a World Cup qualifier.

Struggling Sunderland are keen to bring in hungry young players this month to help them in their Championship relegation battle.

Barca to launch huge Coutinho bid

Barcelona will offer the third highest fee in football history for Philippe Coutinho.

And now the chances of him getting his dream move to the Nou Camp will depend on how, exactly, their bid of around £140m is structured.

The Spanish giants have used intermediaries to make quiet contact with Anfield officials in recent days, and open a negotiating process that has avoided the bullying and bluster of last summer.

That has paved the way for a potential deal, with the Reds reluctantly accepting their star player is determined to go...after he turned down the offer of a new, massively improved contract to stay.

Liverpool 's top scorer Mohamed Salah (groin) and Philippe Coutinho (thigh) will miss the FA Cup derby with Everton.

The world's most expensive defender Virgil van Dijk could be in line to make his debut but manager Jurgen Klopp is in no rush to field the Holland international following his arrival on January 1.

Midfielder Jordan Henderson (hamstring) and defender Alberto Moreno (ankle) are still recovering from injuries.

Boss Klopp said: "Mo and Phil are not available so it is not possible. With Virgil it is different, he is obviously healthy and I have to make a decision for this game," said Klopp.
